The word ‘Hikari’ means light. This word, which comes from Japanese culture, has had a meaning in my mind as a person reaching for the light since I first discovered it.

Where does the word ‘Hikari’ come from and what does it represent?

‘Hikari’, which means ‘Light’, which I associate with my surname, comes from Japanese. Since my first encounter with this word, it has created a meaning in my mind as a person reaching for the light. Starting out with the “vulva” figure, which I call Hikari; It is man’s call to creation from the comfort zone where he encounters the first light, from the position where he opens his eyes to life, it is the symbolic form of man’s adventure of existence.

The meaning of vulva in my mind; He has gained a place as a figure that people are closest to the pure, universal, divine power. It is the main source of all life, pleasure and beauty. It is the first piece that each of us opens our eyes to.

Each vulva figure, and therefore each person who has it, has a different soul and self. At the end of the illuminated path where we follow that supreme light and open our eyes, at the moment of exit from the vulva, we are positioned under various conditions in this habitat where we were born. Every person is motivated to use various defense mechanisms to protect his psychological integrity and self-worth as a result of these positive or negative conditions and situations. As an example of these defense mechanisms, we can also exemplify the prejudices directed towards terms and figures.

For example; vulva figure. Ironically, we attribute a defense mechanism to this creative organ that enables life and existence, and we avoid saying it and accepting it. What enables this and activates the defense mechanism are the conditions that humanity is exposed to throughout life. Thus, the person is not aware of the importance of the defense mechanisms he uses. He experiences the emotions and behaviors created by these mechanisms without being aware of the dynamic forces behind them. People in society disregard the weight of this word, organ, piece of existence by removing it from their lives, reducing it to normal or perhaps making it too ordinary.

That’s why this thought state I encountered is a kind of metaphor for these taboos in my mind and a gentle questioning attack on your defense mechanism through my reflection. It is neither our fault nor expected that our naive nature at birth is surrounded by defense mechanisms. We can begin to change and accept existence. It is my role in this adventure to ensure that the resulting works reflect you and provide you with inferences. ‘Hikari’, meaning ‘Light’, which I associate with my surname, is the symbolic form of my adventure here. The reason I identify with light is because my last name is synonymous with this word, and it is my mission.
